Meadow Lake OSB Limited Partnership is a unique venture involving industry, First Nations, Metis, and government. It includes Northwest Communities Holdings Ltd., Meadow Lake Tribal Council Resource Development Inc., CIC OSB Products Inc., and Tolko Industries Ltd.
The Meadow Lake OSB facility, which is operated by Tolko, is situated on a 220 acre plant site 29 kilometers southwest of Meadow Lake, Sask. The plant’s annual capacity is 700 million square feet (3/8 equivalent) of oriented strand board (OSB). The fibre supply is underutilized, sustainable wood species.
Meadow Lake OSB has 130 direct employees and an equivalent number of contractors providing timber harvesting and forest management services. Meadow Lake has supply partnerships with three First Nations organizations and on-going employment of several First Nations harvesting and silviculture contractors.
