At Tolko, we know that to achieve our mission, we must balance our environmental, social and economic performance.
We are proud of our achievements so far. In 1998, we published our first Sustainability Report measuring our performance. In 1999, we updated our Environmental Policy and developed comprehensive Forest Management Principles. Each year since, we have made it our business to continue learning and improving.

- Third-party Sustainable Forest Management certification
- Chain of Custody certification at our woodlands and manufacturing facilities
- A signatory to the Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement—a world leading commitment by the forest industry and environmental groups to sustainability in the Boreal
- Prompt regeneration of harvested areas—with over 100 million seedlings planted since 2006
- An energy conservation strategy that includes eight biomass energy facilities plus a new one in development stage
- Priority of safety—always
