Tolko gives $100,000 for new aquatic
centre
High Prairie, Alberta – Tolko Industries says
thank you to the community of High Prairie with a $100,000 donation
toward a new aquatic centre.
“It’s a token of our appreciation for
being part of this town for the past ten years,” said Rick
Alguire, Woodlands Manager of Tolko’s High Prairie (HP) OSB
Division. Alguire presented the cheque to John Brodrick, HP Mayor,
during the New Year’s Gala on December 31st.
The community has been raising funds for the past
year to build the town’s first public indoor swimming pool.
They hope to begin construction this spring.
“Enhancement of the area’s amenities
helps our current and future employees settle here for the long
term,” said HP OSB Area Manager Stan Nicholls. “Recreational
options support the growth of families in the community and we’re
glad to help.”
Tolko Industries is a family-owned forestry product
manufacturer based in Vernon, British Columbia. The company has
nine Divisions in Western Canada and directly employs approximately
2300 people. In High Prairie, Tolko produces over 600 million square
