Tolko applies to BC Securities Commission
for hearing
Vernon, BC – Tolko Industries Ltd. (Tolko) announced
today that the BC Securities Commission will hold a hearing on Monday,
October 18, 2004 to consider an application by Tolko for an order
that the shareholders rights plan adopted by Riverside Forest Products
Limited on October 5, 2004 be cease traded. The hearing will be
held on October 18, 2004.
Trevor Jähnig, Tolko’s Vice-President of Finance &
CFO said: “This rights plan is inappropriate because it interferes
with the shareholders’ right to choose between the two offers
now on the table”.
Tolko Industries is a family-owned forest products company based
in the interior of British Columbia in Vernon. Tolko manufactures
