Tolko sponsors new hole at golf
course
High Level, Alberta—Tolko Industries Ltd. supports
the expansion of a local golf course with a donation of $60,000.
Rob Layton, General Manager, Prairie Region for Tolko
Industries presented the cheque to Crystal McAteer, President of
Fox Haven Golf & Country Club, at a small ceremony last week.
Layton looks forward to the extension of the nine-hole
course. “As committed members of the community, we welcome
the opportunity to support this non-profit golf club,” says
Layton.
“High Level is northerly and remote, so we
are pleased to help bring some of the recreational amenities that
the families of our current and future employees look for in a hometown.”
With its donation, Tolko sponsors the completion
of one of the new nine holes. Course construction, which began in
September, is expected to complete late next year. The golf club
is experiencing overwhelming popularity, with over 4,700 rounds
played in a one-month period.
Tolko Industries is a family-owned forestry product
manufacturer based in Vernon, British Columbia. The company has
ten Divisions in Western Canada and directly employs approximately
2300 people. In High Level, Tolko annually produces over 310 million
board feet of lumber and has approximately 325 employees.
