Tolko Industries Ltd. 1998/99 Sustainability Report

BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

As a leading marketer and manufacturer of specialty forest products, Tolko is committed to building a sustainable future. This Report is just one of many ways in which we are communicating our dedication to this objective.

Guided by our shared vision, mission and values, and strengthened by our commitment to being customer oriented and results focused, our Company has decided to seek our own path to sustainability. I believe we are well positioned to adapt with our changing industry as we move forward.

I also believe that forest products will continue to play a positive role in the future. The forests under our stewardship are renewable, and we take great care in ensuring their health and continued productivity. As forest products are energy efficient, recyclable and environmentally friendly, these qualities will only increase in value as the general understanding of sustainability grows.

Our first Sustainability Report has outlined the environmental, social and economic balance we aim to achieve. It has also signaled our intent to measure our performance in a systematic way as our commitment to sustainability continues to evolve. As we have communicated in this Report, we will proactively seek ways to continually improve our performance and grow the Company. I invite you to join us in our journey toward sustainability by commenting on the content of this report and the path we have chosen.
